Not so friendly letters

Dear Chris:

I once considered you an intellectual inspiration, for lack of a better term. Back when you wrote Letters to a Young Contrarian and the Trial of Henry Kissinger, your refusal to bind your words to the politically acceptable roused me. I felt emboldened by your unreserved athiesm.

But now you write only things like this.

Please focus your energy on not dying from stage four esophageal cancer. Or please die.
